This is a class blog for Dr. Kristen Alley Swain's journalism students who produce video stories about sustainability issues in the Oxford-Ole Miss community.
This video was well done. I think it would have been more effective if you would have used more sources. The b roll added to the video and showed what was going on. The video script was concise and complete.
The piece is interesting and engaging. The video also carries a sharp focus about a specific aspect of conservation. A good establishing shot was included and captured my attention.
All the essential and important points are clear and logical throughout the piece. Great job! I hope Planet Forward will use your video.
It was a good piece. The only problem was the voice over was not loud enough. Maybe if you turn down the audio on the b roll, you will be able to hear the voice over better. Also, it gets cut off right before the interview. Also if you put a lower 3rd under the person you are interviewing , the viewer will be able to know who he is and why you are interviewing him. This video is good. The only thing is in the beginning of the video the v/o sounds like words were cut off and the nat sound was not consistent throughout the video. The b-roll fits well with the script and does not take away from the story.
Excellent script, tells a complete and interesting story. I observed flaws in the b-roll shots because of the shaky footage and some distracting background noise. I would have also interviewed another source.
Overall good video. The story is timely and includes important information about the Gulf Coast.
